On time is late

workout gear ready to boost today

You have fixed a time of 6 but the person did not show up and it’s 6 past 5 mins. Now that frustration starts to fill you up rising from your gut and you start looking at your phone to drop a text or straightway call sometimes.

Ever happened?

Well today’s my first day at cult.fit and I have well attended two trial classes for s&c and dance fitness. Today was technically my day 1 of the 1 year membership I have purchased for cult and today is also the day when I am thrown out of the class. Didn’t get ?? Let me elaborate. So today I achieved my target of getting up at 5 no no it was technically 5:31 am and when I came out of Washroom to make tea it was already 5:37 or 5:38 and literally I started getting dressed at 6 and wohoo starting time for my class was also 6.

I rushed towards my centre and after marking attendance and wearing shoes and trespassing the diversion to enter the ongoing boxing class comprising of maximum 10 people, I started looking towards station number 47/48 which was no where to be seen. I finally heard a little frustrated voice “Join the next class” and then sunk my poor heart. When I closely passed by my trainer I heard a gentle voice stating “Warm up’s done so you can come in next class”

I just could not digest what exactly happened. I was late and time was 6:13 and was thrown out politely. I sat there near lockers while the rest of the class just followed instructor. And I spent some 5–10 minutes changing shoes back and booking next class for the day. I came back home lil upset and told mom my sad story. We went to supermarket post that and were back by 7. All this while Cady (my 4 months old beagle dog) was sleeping. Then I took him out for a stroll and I met one girl whom I generally ignored a bit not deliberately but sometimes I am pissed because of Cady or it’s just a vibe thing. But today I talked with her and I was amazed listening her. She was returning from a gym and she told for past 10 years she’s been working out and as she works at a hospital, she goes regularly from 6–7. This made me feel ashamed and hard hit realisation at the same time. If she can do it, those people attending boxing class at 6 am can do it, what is my excuse? I was just giving some futile justifications to myself.

I went on time in the next class which I scheduled at 9. I am happy that I did not give up and attended class. Also I will never be late from now onwards as On time is late.

Being punctual is one of the core mantras of success. Those who want to be successful be truthful towards yourself.
